Racing just part of Tracy’s weekend

For racing veteran Paul Tracy, this weekend means more than just glory on the track.

Tracy will be racing in support of the Canadian military charity Wounded Warriors, which supports soldiers fighting overseas.

“I met some of the soldiers in Toronto and they’ve just come back from Afghanistan, and they’re just so proud to have somebody representing them on the race track,” said Tracy.

He added, as?a Canadian, he is proud to represent the country’s soldiers.

Tracy, 40, is an accomplished Canadian race driver, known for his aggression on the track.

He said that he has no specific plans to retire anytime soon, despite his original idea to race until he is 42.
Fans will have a chance to sign Tracy’s racing suit which will be on display throughout the weekend for a donation to Wounded Warriors, until he races on Sunday.

“As a soldier and a father of a soldier, I think I can speak for all military members and their families when I say thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Wayne Johnson, president and founder of Wounded Warriors.

After the press conference, which he announced his new sponsor as the Edmonton Area Honda Dealers, Tracy went over to the military base to meet soldiers and their families.

The Rexall Edmonton Indy starts on Friday and goes until Sunday.
