The Halifax Rainmen are coming home in a mild slump. The Rainmen lost their third straight game on Saturday, falling 115-113 in overtime to the two-time defending Premier Basketball League champion Rochester RazorSharks. All three losses have come in overtime and all three have been on the road. Although the Rainmen were closing in on first in the PBL three weeks ago, they have since fallen to 9-5 and have been all but mathematically eliminated from grabbing top spot. They are now in fourth, with the fifth-place Vermont Frost Heaves (6-7) quietly gaining round in the race for the final playoff spot. Tony Bennett broke his own franchise single-game record with 33 points but the RazorSharks won it with a three-pointer from Derik Hollyfield with 40 seconds remaining. The Rainmen return home Sunday to host first-place Puerto Rico.
