The Halifax Rainmen made yet another roster move yesterday, signing six-foot-11 centre Larry Turner.

Turner, who played NCAA Division I for Oklahoma and Tennessee State, has bounced around with various professional teams since signing a two-year contract with the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers out of college in 2007.

The Rainmen, who visit the two-time defending Premier Basketball League champion Rochester RazorSharks on Saturday, cut Cameron Stanley to open up roster space.

“We’re getting our butt kicked on the offensive boards,” said Rainmen owner Andre Levingston. “We need someone to come in and take rebounding personally. Larry likes to rebound and block shots, he’s a good defender and he’s a big body.”
