The Halifax Rainmen will pick seventh overall in the Premier Basketball League draft on Oct. 29.

The Rainmen received that selection, along with the 17th overall choice, in the two-round, 20-pick draft, after a lottery yesterday. The Puerto Rico Capitanes, one of four new teams in the PBL, were awarded the No. 1 overall pick.

The Rainmen had the second overall pick last year and selected Acadia Axemen alumnus Walter Moyse, who didn’t play a game with the team. They used the 26th overall pick to select David Bailey, a bench player last season.
