RCMP have arrested 65 drug traffickers and laid a total of 153 criminal charges following a three-month enforcement targeted at street level drugs.

“These busts send a strong message that Albertans will not tolerate drug traffickers and the organized crime groups that support them,” said Jennie Latham, operations officer for the RCMP’s Provincial Capital District.

Project KOMPRESSION highlights include 114 charges directly related to trafficking controlled substances such as cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamines, oxycontin and marijuana.

The individuals targeted were either residents of communities surrounding Edmonton, or known to travel from Edmonton.
