The RCMP launched a murder investigation Monday after a man’s body was found in a lake Sunday night in Yarmouth County.
RCMP Sgt. Michel Lacroix said at about 7 p.m. Sunday
a woman was walking along a bridge on Eel Lake Road, spotted the body
in the water and phoned police. The body was pulled from the water
Monday morning because it was too dark to do it Sunday night.

“It’s been a while,” Lacroix said when asked Monday the last time his detatchment was involved with a murder investigation.
Lacroix said the case is being treated as a homicide
based on evidence gathered when taking the body from the water. An
autopsy is taking place in Halifax Monday and police were hoping that
would reveal the cause of death.
Lacroix said the victim is a white man believed to
be between the ages of 30 and 40. He said no one has been reported
missing matching the man’s description.
