RCMP probe copper thefts in New Brunswick

BATHURST, N.B. – RCMP in New Brunswick are investigating the theft of copper from a home in Bertrand and the Caribou Mine near Bathurst.

The Mounties say someone broke into the unoccupied home sometime between Jan. 11 and Jan. 24.

Police in Bathurst are also investigating after copper was stolen from a garage earlier this month at the mine on Route 180.

They say they believe the copper wiring was cut into short pieces and carried by snowmobile to a nearby vehicle.
