Reader is confusing art with life

Re: "Violence against women sexualized — Reader’s letter," Mar. 23:


I have to disagree with (reader) Chris Arthur’s letter.


I thought the photo shoot (on America’s Next Top Model) was incredibly creative and the end result was stunning.


While I agree that "we are fighting for women’s rights overseas," I believe that this point is made out of context.


First of all — the photo shoot of the girls was staged as though they had "murdered" each other, not by their domineering male relatives.


Secondly, and more importantly — this is art: Sometimes art isn’t pretty, sometimes art isn’t tasteful. The purpose of art is to gauge a reaction and it looks as though it did.
