Reader missing addiction facts

I just read the letter from George Hilt of Coquitlam. How dare he say that addiction is not a disease. It is not only a disease, but it can be passed along from generation to generation.


It is like alcohol, if you have a family member, that is, parents or uncles and aunts who are alcoholic, chances are you will have the same disease. Drug addiction is the same thing. If you have a history in your family of drug or alcohol abuse you are already destined to have problems.


If you don’t know the real facts you should not make statements like this.
