Claude Hamelin, president, of the Rendez-Vous des Saveurs de Gatineau compares the lineups to sample food and wine at the event to the traffic on the bridges over the Ottawa River.

It’s really only a problem around dinnertime when everyone arrives at the same time; the rest of the day, things run fairly smoothly.

After moving to the Casino Lac-Leamy Theatre last year, the event struggled to keep up with demand and people ended up in long lines last year.

It’s symptom of success, said Hamelin, but also part of settling into the new location.

This year, with 20 per cent more exhibitors, Anny Spooner, the events director of public affairs said they have reorganized the venue in hopes that the long lines will not be a problem.

The new entrance is much wider than last year. Booths will be set up in the theatre foyer to take advantage of that space.
