Relay for Life kickoff starts off tankless

Stephen Avenue was missing one large tank on Thursday due to a bad battery.

The tank was supposed to be part of the Canadian Cancer Society’s kickoff for the Relay for Life.

The cancer society was set up outside of Banker’s Hall on Stephen Avenue to provide information for the Relay for Life.

“We weren’t very successful (Thursday) because our tank wasn’t here, it has a dead battery, but it will be here (today),” said Frances Todd, co-chair of the survivor and caregiver committee. Todd feels the tank’s presence Friday will help attract a lot more people to their cause.
