Reported brawl was not at all

Halifax Regional School Board spokesman Doug Hadley said police descending upon Auburn Drive High School on Thursday during the lunch hour about a report of a fight between several students wound up being “much ado about nothing.”

Hadley said two students registering on the first day of school were in what he termed an ongoing feud.

He said the two students talked and said they would meet off school property to fight.

A fight between the two students took place at approximately 12:15 p.m. outside a nearby convenience store.

One person watching the fight called police and said a fight was taking place between several students.

Several Halifax RCMP patrol cars arrived on scene, but police say the fight was only between the two students and any other people on hand were just watching.

No charges are being laid. Hadley said the matter is being dealt with between the school and the families of the two students.
