With October being the peak season for coyote sightings in the city, researchers at the University of Calgary have created a tool to help Calgarians.
In order to reduce the chance of interactions between people and coyotes, and coyotes and pets, the U of C is launching an online tracking tool today.
Calgarians will be able to track neighbourhoods and parks where coyotes have recently been sighted. They can also contribute to monitoring coyote behaviour. According to the university, October is when young coyotes leave the family den.
