Ramsay residents will be keeping a close eye on council today as aldermen discuss the land redevelopment plans for the Calgary Stampede.

The Stampede is asking to place corrals near the floodway of the Elbow River and are awaiting council approval. Ramsay residents are worried about the plan but Stampede spokesperson Doug Fraser believes their concerns will be alleviated.

More than 300 Ramsay residents have signed a petition against the plan, with most worried about smells and if the area were to flood again.
