A civilian-led team that investigates questionable police conduct is releasing results of an aggravated sexual assault investigation into an Alberta-based officer today.

A source with the Alberta Serious Response Team confirmed this morning that an Edmonton-based officer was the target of the investigation.

Findings of the team’s investigation won’t be released until a news conference this afternoon.

The provincial government formed the team in 2007 after many concerns were raised about cops investigating themselves in cases of alleged police wrongdoing.
