An inquiry has been launched into the conduct of four RCMP officers accused of watching two female inmates having sex in a Kamloops jail cell.

An inquiry has been launched into the conduct of four RCMP officers accused of watching two female inmates having sex in a Kamloops jail cell.

The officers and three civilian workers have been suspended with pay and are facing a criminal investigation.

Ian McPhail, interim chair with the Commission for Public Complaints, said an independent civilian will be appointed to investigate the incident.

The inmates were picked up on public intoxication charges.
