Rider chasing perfect season

Jordan Szoke is closing in on perfection.

Jordan Szoke is closing in on perfection.

The 31-year-old from Brantford, Ont., heads into this weekend’s final two races of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship season a perfect five-for-five in event wins.

The final two races go Saturday and Sunday at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie — and with two more trips around the track with the checkered flag, a perfect season is complete.

“I compare it to shooting a 59 in golf. That’s something that doesn’t happen too often,” Szoke said at media conference promoting this weekend’s races yesterday at Pro Cycle in Dartmouth.

“A perfect season — at so many levels — is so awesome.”

First thing for Szoke is clinching a fifth-straight points title. He can wrap that up with a win on Saturday.

And should all go to plan for Szoke and he pulls off another win in two days, his focus for Sunday will be solely on racing for perfection.

“Not too often you’re in the position that I’m in,” he said.

Practice and qualifying will be held tomorrow, with feature races in all five classes set for Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend tickets are $40 in advance and $50 the gate. Visit www.atlanticroadracing.com for complete information.
