Rock Fest rewards firefighters with free tickets

Canadian Forces Halifax Rock Fest organizers are saying thanks to the firefighters who battled the recent wildfire in the Spryfield area with free tickets to their show at Citadel Hill on Aug. 2 during Natal Day weekend.

Organizers have donated 100 free tickets to the firefighters who battled the blaze that lasted more than two days and destroyed eight homes.

“We just wanted to say thank you to the firefighters for what they did during the recent Herring Cove fire, and what they do throughout the year,” Frank Cleysen said in a release. Cleysen is the Canadian Forces Halifax Personnel Support Programs Manager and event manager for Rock Fest.

This first-ever event for Halifax features an impressive lineup, with international stars Chickenfoot joining Our Lady Peace, Finger 11 and Halifax’s Sloan as headliners.

Deployed troops from the region will be able to watch the show through Canadian Forces Television.

Early bird tickets are on sale now at all Ticketpro locations until May 31. They run $65 each or $240 for a family of four. After that, individual tickets will cost $75.
