He’s billed as the rock star of the art world and Friday night he will be painting this town red.
Well-known and popular U.S. artist Michael Godard travelled from Las Vegas this week to make several stops in Alberta, including one tomorrow night at the Editions Art Gallery in Southcentre mall where he will be doing an original sketch to be auctioned off to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation.
“I just think it’s a lot of fun and I’m always excited to come to Calgary. I think I was put on earth to do some good and art has given me the opportunity to do that,” Godard said, adding he has been to Calgary half-a-dozen times for the fundraising event.
“For me, the whole thing is awesome,” he said.
Neil Moir of the Editions Art Gallery said the gallery loves having Godard come each year and expects about 200 people at the event.
“It’s fun and it’s for a good cause,” Moir said.
Godard will be at the gallery from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
