Yesterday the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh toured the Cultural Village set up on the Halifax Common for Membertou 400.
They were shown a number of displays, including basket-making and the game of waltes.
They were given a basket, a painting and a CD of animated Mi’kmaq legends.
“We are humbled and honoured by Her Majesty’s heartfelt interest in learning more about our history, culture and future,” said Grand Chief Sylliboy.
