Recreational vehicle dealers handed over ten large boxes of food to Edmonton’s Food Bank yesterday after wrapping up a massive weekend sell off at the Mayfield Trade Centre.

Local dealers offered up new and pre-owned toy haulers, travel trailers, fifth wheels and tent trailers at the annual RV Wars sale where customers visiting the sale gave food donations rather than paying for admission.

"All of the boxes are kind of overflowing right now," said the RV Wars organizer Dave Hill.

Hill says more young families are buying RVs than ever before because they’re inexpensive rather than paying for a one-week family vacation.

"This is just becoming more affordable for families," he said.
