FREDERICTON – NB Liquor is reporting an increase in third-quarter profits despite a drop in alcohol sales.
The New Brunswick Crown corporation reports net earnings of $44.5 million — an increase of $300,000 from the same quarter last year.
President Daniel Allain says economic uncertainty is responsible for an overall decline in sales.
He says beer volume was down almost 10 per cent between October and January when compared to the third quarter of last year.
Allain says operating expenses declined slightly from the same period a year ago.
