Police believe the same suspect is responsible for two pharmacy robberies yesterday in a half-hour span.
Duty Insp. Rob Williams said a male first hit a pharmacy on Crowfoot Cres. NW at 11 a.m., showed the butt of a handgun, demanded the painkiller OxyContin and fled in a car reported stolen earlier.
Williams said the same man then went to another pharmacy in the 6200 block of Centre St. N. and this time pulled out the handgun and demanded the same drug.
“We believe it was the same culprit in both incidents but we’re not sure yet if he is part of a group responsible for similar robberies or acting alone,” Williams said.
