French President Nicolas Sarkozy urged oil-rich nations and industrial powers yesterday to work to stabilize world oil prices, noting the global economy cannot afford major price swings while it works to recover from the downturn.
Sarkozy’s comments came during a visit to the United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi, to formally open his nation’s first military base in the Gulf.
He is also pushing a deal for the U.A.E. to purchase Rafale fighter jets.
