Since moving to Ottawa from Sault Ste. Marie (a town with 12 buses) it is hard to complain about the transit system in the city, but (Dec. 19) really takes the cake.
While riding on the 95 to Bayshore, I saw a driver lecture a woman with an infant for only having 2.25$ (not the required 3$). He let her on, but refused to give her a transfer. I gave her my transfer, got off the bus, and caught another one.
On my second ride, the bus driver skipped a stop even though a passenger with a cane had pressed the button and other patrons reminded the driver. The driver did not reply.
In a single day I had seen drivers be inconsiderate to a low-income mother and a person with a disability.
I am getting frustrated with a transit system that seems to be satisfied with second rate. Prices are going up and service seems to be getting worse.
