I went to school in Europe. Besides the subject of sewing and cooking for girls and woodworking and repairs for boys, we also had a subject called Etiquette and Manners.
So not only did we get thought these important life lessons in school, but also at home. As a kid, if I did not give up my seat in the bus to a handicapped or older person with white hair, my mother would command me out of my seat. Today’s parents seem to think that education is the school’s job. Is it any wonder that nobody cares anymore?
