passenger pigeon

Clothes by Passenger Pigeon, above, are among the goods on sale at Skirt.

If you were busy eating shortbread cookies for breakfast last week and missed the sales, don’t fret. Plenty of stores are still unloading winter stock at eye-popping prices.

The dirt on Skirt

Stylistas who dig Canadian fashion will definitely want to drop by local fave Skirt (903 Dundas St. W., five blocks west of Bathurst Street; www.skirtclothing.ca), where Toronto line Dagg and Stacey’s popular pants and jackets are now slashed by an astounding 70 per cent — a rarity for this celebrated duo, who have earned a cult-like following.

There are also stellar deals of 20 per cent off or more on Passenger Pigeon, Snoflake and Edmonton’s Nokomis.

Bargain-bin knickers

For a quick pick-me-up that’ll help start the New Year fresh, snag a handful of undies at La Senza, www.lasenza.com. There are plenty of cotton cuties to be had in the five-for-$10 bins, plus some lace-edged swish numbers in the five-for-$20 section.

And don’t skip over the vampy sleepwear or the super-snuggly chenille robes (now $59), plus discounted PJs, slippers and select bras, now just $8.

Winning style

All kinds of extra discounts await frugalistas in the clearance racks at Winners, www.winners.ca. As of Tuesday, all the red-ticket items at this bargain mecca were further reduced. FF tracked down some very sweet deals on various tops and footwear at lunatic prices (i.e. five tops for under $50, and some very cool clog boots for $49, reg. $120). Rumour has it a shipment of NineWest lovelies will arrive at the Bloor Street shop before the weekend, so be ready.

Half-off happening

Save 50 per cent off all red-ticket items in H&M’s men’s, kids’ and women’s wear sections. FF noted serious savings on various styles in denim, as well as on cords, tweedy A-line skirts and sexy wrap tops (most at $19.99 before the discount).

Men’s sharp dress shirts, ties and street-chic tees with appliques were also priced to move. But get to your nearest location fast; nothing lingers at this store, where fashion-forward pieces typically vanish at full price. Find the widest selection at the Eaton Centre location.

Girl Friday fest

Don’t miss out on sumptuous scores at local fashion hub Girl Friday (740 Queen St. W., 416-364-2511; 776 College St., 416-531-1036; www.girlfridayclothing.com). Save 30 to 50 per cent off all fall/winter clothing and accessories, including the flattering in-house line of trousers and some great tops and jackets too. Excellent for work or cocktail hour.
