Chris Cornell has been making music for about two decades, but his new album, Scream, reaches a milestone that he’s managed to avoid — he’s finally created one of the worst albums of the year. Why in God’s name would he team up with Nelly Furtado-producer Timbaland is anyone’s guess. The result is a schizophrenic record of electro-beats, dance-club melodies, and the occasional rap — genres the former Soundgarden signer should stay far away from. If anything this is more of a Timbaland disc featuring Chris Cornell than it is the other way around.
