Luke Adam’s hat trick has extended the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles’ playoff run by at least another game.

The 19-year-old forward’s heroics lifted the Screaming Eagles to a 4-1 win over the Moncton Wildcats last night in Sydney. The Wildcats lead the best-of-seven QMJHL first-round series 3-1, with Game 5 set for Saturday at 7 p.m. in Moncton.

Taylor MacDougall added a single and goalie Olivier Roy made 26 saves.

In the other all-Maritime semifinal last night in Charlottetown, Tomas Jurco scored the overtime winner at 3:55 as the Saint John Sea Dogs earned a 2-1 win over the host P.E.I. Rocket. The Sea Dogs lead the series 3-1, with Game 5 set for Friday at 7 p.m. in Saint John.
