Rescue dogs scoured Edmonton’s south river valley all weekend, with still no sign of Dylan Koshman.
The 21-year-old mysteriously disappeared on Oct. 11. Since then, small armies of searchers have covered ground in the valley, hunting for any small sign of his presence.
“We’re just trying to close some doors and get closure,” his father, Dan Koshman, said yesterday.
Though the family has explored much of the area, trained dogs from the Canadian Search and Disaster Dogs association crossed patches of land off their list yesterday.
“The dogs can get into areas we can’t, so we know for certain he’s not there,” Dan said.
Trainer Richard Le said even if Dylan’s body was frozen in the North Saskatchewan over the winter, it would not impact the dogs’ ability to locate him.
“By now, areas will be thawed, so they’ll be able to pick up the scent,” he said.
The family travels from Moose Jaw, Sask., periodically to search for Dylan. As long as the dogs are available, the groups will continue weekend searches together until he’s found.
“We want answers as to what happened to our boy,” Dan said.
