A 28-year-old Sydney River man is safe at home after spending a night in the woods.
The man was moose hunting in an isolated area of the Highlands near Bell Lake Tuesday evening when he was reported overdue. Baddeck RCMP were notified and a search was launched with the assistance of Cape Breton Search and Rescue, three experienced hunters from Wagmatcook and RCMP from Inverness and Baddeck.
The Cape Breton Search and Rescue team set up a command post and sent out three separate search groups, made up of men and women who conducted a night search.
At 6:15 a.m. yesterday, the missing hunter was located. He was wet and cold but not injured. He had become disoriented when fog set in.
