KELOWNA, B.C. – Colin Jacobs scored the shootout winner as the Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the host Kelowna Rockets 2-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Burke Gallimore scored in regulation time for the Thunderbirds (18-26-2), who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Colton Heffley scored the lone goal for the Rockets (21-23-6), who lost for the first time in three contests.
Calvin Pickard made 30 saves for the win while Adam Brown turned away 30 shots in defeat.
Seattle went 0 for 4 on the power play as Kelowna failed to score on five opportunities with the man advantage.
