A 72-year-old male pedestrian suffered life-threatening head and internal injuries after being struck by first a car, and then thrown into the path of a bus Tuesday morning, Ottawa paramedics said.

 

Paramedics received a call at 6:36 a.m. regarding a collision at Fisher Avenue between Baseline Road and Shillington Avenue. Police said the collision involved a pedestrian, a car and an OC Transpo bus.

 

The victim was unconscious at the arrival of paramedics. He did not regain consciousness upon arrival at hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

 

Ottawa police are now investigating the incident.
