Sens bedevilled in Jersey

THE SKINNY: The Ottawa Senators road misery continued as they dropped another one away from Scotiabank Place. Their record falls to 1-5-0 since beginning an eight-game road swing on Dec. 26.

THE WINNING GOAL: Brian Rolston scored on the power play at 3:17 of overtime with a slapshot from the blue-line that Ottawa goaltender Alex Auld didn’t have much of a chance on. Auld was being screened by the Devils Brian Gionta and couldn’t see the puck.

THE DEVILS’ STREAK: The Devils have now won four straight games against Ottawa and five of their last six at the Prudential Center in Newark.

THE COLLISION: Ottawa forward Chris Neil crashed into Nick Foligno during the first period when the Senators tough guy was trying to take out a Devils player. The hit left Foligno with a bloody nose that needed medical attention, but he remained in the game.

THE HEAT’S OFF: Ottawa’s Dany Heatley went another game without a goal and has not scored in 11 of the Senators’ last 12 games.

NEXT GAME: The Senators are in Buffalo tomorrow night to take on the Sabres.
