Share a pint at Beers for Queers

For years, Sean Thompson was looking for a place to share a pint with friends in the gay community without having to deal with blaring techno music, disco balls and a cover charge.

So Thompson, after a trip to Montreal where he witnessed with his own eyes how diverse a community can become, convinced the owner of the Empress Ale House to host Beers for Queers.

“It took a while for people in the gay community to catch on,” Thompson said. Beers For Queers goes at the Empress on the final Thursday of every month but Thompson said they’ll be holding “just another gay night at the Empress” during Pride Week.
