Sheriffs help make big weapons bust

Alberta sheriffs are being credited by city police for helping seize a number of guns and a small amount of ammunition found inside a truck they pulled over Saturday.

Sheriffs pulled over the suspicious vehicle on 23 Avenue and Rabbit Hill Road around 2:20 p.m.

While conducting the traffic stop, the sheriffs discovered a weapon and ammunition inside the vehicle, prompting them to call police, said city cops.

When police from the service’s southwest division arrived, cops found three handguns in a hidden compartment in the truck, two rifles, and ammunition for all of the weapons.
Police say two of those handguns were loaded.

Cody James Kermode, 18, and Andy Christopher Estrada, 18, are both charged with more than 40 offences, including numerous firearms related offences.
