Grab your skates and your hockey stick and hit the ice on one of the city’s 236 outdoor rinks as the City of Ottawa hosts its second annual Hockey Day in Ottawa on Sat. Jan. 30.

The event encourages people of all ages, abilities and skill levels to get outside for an afternoon of hockey, skating and physical activity from noon to 2 p.m.

While more than 4,500 participants playing pickup games on 147 rinks across the city made the first edition of Hockey Day in Ottawa a success, organizers hope to make it even bigger this year.

The use of helmets and applicable safety equipment is recommended.
