Véronic Dicaire was once a small francophone girl from Embrun following the footsteps of Céline Dion.

Fast forward to 2008 and Dicaire was on stage in front of 22,000 people as the opening act for her idol before touring in Canada and Europe.

Her latest gig will be at La Cité Collégiale, as the college’s new voice for students.

“I worked with students in their projects in communications with TV and radio, so when they thought of me I was very touched and pleased by that,” said Dicaire.

Lise Bourgeois, president of La Cité Collégiale, said she is proud to have a Franco-Ontarian who is an international personality to lend her voice to her students.

“We will work together to build promotions of programs that we offer, and it will be Véronic’s voice saying how you can succeed at the college,” she said.

“Her talent and pride in being Franco-Ontarian are undeniable.”

Dicaire said this new three-year “adventure” with the college will enhance her career.

“You need some adventure to enhance what you’re doing,” added Bourgeois.
