Singer ‘stoked’ to be on Western tour

What do you get when you give an Ontario country boy a guitar, educate him in jazz, and throw in a dash of classical and rock?

You get Brad James, a Stoney Creek, Ont.-based country singer out doing his first-ever Western Canadian tour. James is scheduled to play in Edmonton on Friday at Wildwest Saloon and has seven other shows across Alberta.

Starting off in a country bar in Belleville, James grabbed an acoustic guitar and jumped on stage. He’s come a long way from there and has released his debut album and his song If You Like That Sorta Thing has been played on country music radio stations throughout Ontario.

Now he’s out on the road exploring and playing in new parts of Canada.

“I’m just stoked to be in a part of Canada that I’ve never seen before,” James said.

Not only is he excited to be coming West, he’s also happy to be doing what he enjoys most; Playing his music.

“I’m getting to do something I love,” James said. “I’m very lucky that way.”
