Toronto homicide Det. Stacy Gallant says he is aghast at what he has learned about the murder of Christopher Skinner. The 27-year-old was remembered at a memorial service Thursday at St. Paul’s Leaskdale Church near the town of Uxbridge as vivacious, generous, inimitably funny and extraordinarily popular.

Gallant released a video clip, from a surveillance camera, of a black SUV.

“That, we believe, is the SUV involved in the murder of Christopher Skinner,” he said.

Skinner, a gay man, was engaged to be married. Neither fiancé Ryan Cooke nor Skinner’s parents spoke at the service.

Skinner, who attended gifted classes in his youth, was elected co-president of his high school student council. He graduated from Ryerson University.
