Smith still looking for first win in Stock 100

Wayne Smith of Timberlea takes his lead atop the Carquest Maritime Pro Stock Tour into Saturday’s Carquest Pro Stock 100 at Speedway 660 near Fredericton, N.B.

Smith, last year’s third-place finisher, is still looking for his first win of the summer, but he has led for more laps than any of the 37 drivers through the tour’s first two events.

Second-place Shawn Tucker from the home track will be hot on his heels, as will third-place Shawn Turple of Enfield and fourth-place Mike MacKenzie of Montague Gold Mines.

Turple captured the Lucas Oil 100 at Scotia Speedworld on May 24, while Tucker took the Ron MacGillivray 100 at Riverside International Speedway on June 7.

It’s the third stop on the 11-race tour schedule. The tour returns to Scotia Speedworld on July 5 with the Forbes 150.
