A study led by a Saint Mary’s University professor has been named one of the most provocative sex science stories of 2009 by the science website www.LiveScience.com.

The study, led by psychology professor Maryann Fisher, looked into how men and women would feel if they cheated on their partner.

The research concluded that men feel guiltier following sexual infidelity, while women feel guiltier after an emotional transgression. Fisher and her team had hypothesized the opposite.
