Snow may be on its way

Say it ain’t snow?

Environment Canada’s forecast last evening said there was a possibility of more than 10 centimetres of snow during the overnight hours tonight into early tomorrow morning.

The forecast called for rain beginning in the evening, changing to snow before midnight. High winds were also forecast with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark.

Around noontime yesterday, Environment Canada meteorologist Bob Robichaud told Metro
the large low pressure system that is expected to travel south of the province should see the Halifax region get “a bit more rain than snow,” eying snowfall amounts of no more than two centimetres.

However, Robichaud also said “people should keep an eye on this one” as the possibility was there for it to change, which it seems to have done now.

During the day tomorrow the forecast calls for rain and snow and a high near three degrees.
