SPCA looking for owner of cat that fell from building

The Metro SPCA is asking for the public’s assistance in finding the owner of a cat injured falling from at least the third floor of an apartment building at 6969 Bayer’s Rd. in Halifax last week.

The SPCA says the HRM Animal Services received a call at 10:30 p.m. last Friday from the building’s superintendent who said somebody on a second floor apartment witnessed a cat falling from above. The witness said the cat hit the concrete and then later dragged herself under a nearby car.

The cat was taken to the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic and was diagnosed with a broken leg and bruised bladder. It’s currently in stable condition at the Eastern Passage Veterinary Clinic.

So far, no one has come forward to find the missing cat — SPCA staff have named her Hope. Anyone with information is asked to contact 835-4798.
