Valentines Animal instincts sometimes go hand in hand when it comes to successful date.
That’s why staff at the Edmonton Valley Zoo say it will be the No. 1 spot for singles for two days beginning Feb. 13 once again for the Valentines Day weekend. The zoo is hosting a series of speed-date nights in the event dubbed Animal Attraction, for the second time after a successful first go of it last year.
And as singles meet candidates during eight-minute sessions, zoo staff will show off the animals while offering lectures on animal mating habits as “a bit of an icebreaker,” said Tyler Pollock, an events co-ordinator at the zoo.
“This past September, I found myself at a wedding where I met a couple — they weren’t exactly bride and groom and they were people who dated for about a year now after the speed dating event,” said Pollock. Tickets for the event are $40. Singles looking for a booking can call 780-457-8535, or go to eightminutedate.ca more info.
