Stabbing brings charges

A 36-year-old man will be in court today to face an attempted-murder charge in relation to the stabbing of a 27-year-old man in Dartmouth on Saturday night.

Just after 8 p.m., Halifax Regional Police say someone alerted an officer on Prince Arthur Avenue that a man had been stabbed at a nearby residence.

The officer found the victim on the front steps of the home with a wound to his neck.

Police say the victim was stabbed inside the residence.

The victim was initially responsive, but fell unconscious at the scene, according to police, and was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A man known to the victim was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

He was charged last night after being interviewed by investigators.
