With election day creeping closer, mayoral candidate Wayne Stewart released his five-point platform yesterday.

Stewart cited transparent governance as one of his top priorities, stating in a release that city council needs to earn back the trust of Calgarians.

“Candidates in this race have to tell the voters what they are doing,” said Stewart. “What we need is substance over style.”

Along with prioritizing leadership, Stewart said he would focus on making Calgary a world-class tourist destination and “the global energy capital.”

Stewart also touched on transit, stating his hopes of LRT expansion to the airport and the southeast, as well as bus rapid transit to Mount Royal University.

“What we need is someone who has the proven track record to deliver results by transforming vision to reality, and by building workable coalitions,” said Stewart.

“That person is me.”
