Still no luck in search for missing elderly couple

An elderly couple is still missing despite information from the public, police said yesterday.

“We have received some tips from the public, but so far nothing has been found,” said Duty Insp. Keith Cain.

Allen Berrington, 90, and Margaret Berrington, 91, were last seen at their home in the 3100 block of 34 Avenue SW at 5:30 p.m. on May 27. Police said they may be driving their silver 2007 Chrysler Sebring, with Alberta licence plate LBL 140.

Police have searched using HAWCS helicopter and also reviewed security footage from the Grey Eagle Casino — but there was no indication the couple visited the establishment.

“For a couple to go missing for a day or two, perhaps that’s not a concern at all,” said Cain.

“I’m told it’s out of character.

“In this case, the more days that go pass, it’s more of a concern.”

Foul play is not suspected.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the Berringtons, or their silver Chrysler, should call police at 403-567-6200 or 403-266-1234.
