Stransky named Q’s offensive player of the week

Factoring in a four-game suspension, Jan Stransky has only spent two weeks in a Halifax Mooseheads jersey. Both weeks, he has earned QMJHL offensive player of the week.

The 18-year-old right-winger earned the honour yesterday after scoring four goals and two assists on the weekend to help the Mooseheads earn a weekend split.

He has established a legitimate scoring unit, dubbed the Euro Line, with Tomas Knotek and Yuri Cheremetiev.

Stransky, who was acquired from Gatineau by former general manager Marcel Patenaude for a fifth-round draft pick, has seven goals and four assists in five games since the deal.
