‘Street Legal’ stars to reunite at Stratford

STRATFORD, Ont. – After a turn on Broadway, actor C. David Johnson is set to return to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival this summer.

The “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” star is heading back to the fest to perform the roles of Major-General Stanley in “The Pirates of Penzance” and Pat Denning in “42nd Street.”

The “42nd Street” part will reunite Johnson with Cynthia Dale, with whom he starred on the popular TV series “Street Legal.”

The pair also appeared together at Stratford in 2001 in “The Sound of Music.”

Dale, meanwhile, also has a connection to “42nd Street” star Jennifer Rider-Shaw. The actress was a contestant on CBC’s talent show “Triple Sensation,” on which Dale was a judge.

Johnson appeared in “Priscilla” in Toronto, before the show moved to Broadway.

The upcoming Stratford season runs from April 12 to October 28.

Other productions include “Much Ado About Nothing” and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”
